Server Engineer (Linux/Unix)

JOB DESRIPTION - Perform daily alert monitoring for all Linux/UNIX servers. - Perform troubleshooting for all Linux/UNIX servers. - Administering Linux/UNIX virtualized production environment.  Administering Solaris production environment. - Administering AIX production environment.  Identify and apply innovative technology to update Linux/UNIX servers. - Identify underlying problems discovered during day-to-day operations and managing them to resolution. - To make sure Linux/UNIX server availability to achieve target SLA. - Administering Linux/UNIX server HA and make sure the HA services is always up and running. - Perform patching and security remediation base on server VA scanning result. - Prepare MOP (Method Of Procedure) document for any Change Request. - Present MOP in weekly TAC (Technical Assessment Committee) Review. - Prepare RCA investigation document related to Linux/UNIX servers. - Create and maintain any document related to Linux/UNIX environment. - Standby 24/7 for any production environment incident.  Knowledge transfer between team members SKILL/REQUIREMENT - Candidate with at least 5 years of working experience as Linux/UNIX system administrator are strongly encouraged to apply - Working knowledge on UNIX Operating System especially AIX and SOLARIS. - Well versed on AIX and SOLARIS server architecture. - Knowledge in AIX and SOLARIS security management such as patching and vulnerability remediation. - Scripting (Shell/Bash or Perl) - Knowledge in UNIX HA configuration such as veritas infoscale. - Familiar with AIX virtual environment such as LPAR. - Familiar with SOLARIS virtual environment such as CDOM and LDOM. - Familiar on how to mount LUN to UNIX servers. - Familiar with 24/7 operation centre environment. - A solid understanding on how an IT Infrastructure work from the physical layer to the application layer. - An understanding of how applications communicate within the infrastructure such as load balancer, firewall, networking. - A team player and able to work independently and deliver a good result in tight deadlines with minimum guidance. - Have strong logic and analytical skill to understand the system/business process flow. - Good verbal and written skills in English. Able to brief the idea in a documented report clearly.
