This position involves fostering communication with local stakeholders, inviting beneficiaries to participate in the center activities and supporting the Center Manager in ensuring the effective delivery of programs and center management. He/She has to deal with other people from a wide variety of levels, from clients and stakeholders to management and even Executive Director. SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ ABILITIES • Excellent verbal and written communication skills • Skills in crafting advocacy strategies to address specific issues and objectives • Ability to articulate and communicate advocacy message clearly to diverse audience • Good knowledge of social media strategy is added value • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills to engage with diverse stakeholders, including community leaders, government officials, corporates and implementing partners • Ability to foster collaboration and build partnerships • Strong project management skills in conducting outreach and engagement activities to raise awareness and involve the community in advocacy initiatives • Strong organizational skills, problem-solving, negotiation, analytical and time management skills • Ability to work collaboratively and independently with minimal supervision • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills in a fast-paced work environment • Ability to create, execute and manage high volume of projects/programs/activities under tight deadlines • Ability to prioritise tasks, take initiative, and independently manage competing demands • Attention to detail, driven self-starter with positive outlook. • Proficient in Microsoft Office programs • Demonstrated interest in NGO works and people living with HIV, and knowledge of HIV, global health/development sector RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES Sarawak Health Access Programme (SHAPE) • Recruit and enroll new beneficiaries for SHAPE • Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial reports • Facilitate the disbursement of subsidy claims to beneficiaries in accordance with program and Finance guidelines • Present the work progress at least once a month to the Manager of Grant Management Department • Work closely with the Manager of Grant Management to achieve overall program goals and objectives Center Program Leadership • Develop, implement and lead advocacy programs and activities aligned with MAF’s goals • Coordinate and execute events, workshops and campaigns to promote program awareness • Collaborate with team in Kuching Branch and MAF HQ to integrate advocacy messages into various center activities • Prepare periodic works plans, budgets, reports and achievement of key milestones for the programs and advocacy work • Lead the strategy, planning, development and implementation of the programmatic communications and advocacy strategy including effectively disseminating information (technical briefs, webinars, social media posts etc.) to produce impact • Stay abreast of local issues and trends to inform advocacy strategies Local Implementing Partners & Stakeholder Engagement • Initiate and maintain effective communication with local implementing partners and stakeholders, including community leaders, government officials and implementing partners • Build and strengthen partnerships to enhance the impact of advocacy initiatives • Support implementing partners to develop their strategy and internal capacity. • Promote networking and collaboration with partners through meetings, workshops, seminars, conferences, and joint occasions such as World AIDS Day, International AIDS Conference, etc with the aim to seek support for MAF and for people living with HIV by addressing issues and priorities • Represent the organization at relevant forums and meetings Beneficiary Outreach • Proactively engage with potential beneficiaries to raise awareness of the center’s activities • Plan and execute outreach campaigns to invite beneficiaries to participate in center programs • Establish and maintain positive relationship with beneficiaries, ensuring their needs are considered in program planning Event Planning and Execution • Organise and coordinate events, workshops and awareness campaigns related to advocacy • Ensure the smooth execution of activities, from planning to post-event evaluation • Collaborate with team members and colleagues at HQ if requires, to integrate advocacy message into various activities • Draft and coordinate the production and dissemination of various programs including external reports, technical briefs, infographics, program updates, social media updates and success stories. Operational Oversight • Provide support in administrative tasks, reporting and other responsibilities as needed • Collaborate with the team to maintain a positive and inclusive center environment • Create and maintain internal systems, including contact lists, diaries of upcoming events and advocacy opportunities • Implement and monitor safety protocols and compliance with relevant regulations • Collaborate with the Manager of Grant Management to address operational challenges and improve efficiency Others • To maintain the high confidentiality of the organisation and information • Able to travel outstation and work irregular hours, including overnight. • To carry out site visits to health facilities and other organisations when necessary. • Carry out any other duties as may be directed by Superior and the Executive Director of Malaysian AIDS Foundation to further the aims of MAF.
