Job Summary

The Demi Chef is responsible for supporting the kitchen team in food preparation and cooking tasks while maintaining the highest standards of food quality and hygiene. Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation and Cooking

  • Assist the Sous Chef with food preparation, cooking, and plating according to recipes and specifications.
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared to the highest standards of presentation and taste.
  • Participate in creating innovative dishes and garnishes, with input on menu development when required.

Kitchen Operations

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and storage areas in compliance with hygiene and safety regulations.
  • Assist with receiving, checking, and storing deliveries to ensure quality and freshness.
  • Monitor stock levels and communicate requirements to the Sous Chef.

Quality and Hygiene Standards

  • Follow all food safety and sanitation protocols, including proper handling, storage, and labeling of ingredients.
  • Report any equipment malfunction or maintenance issues to the Sous Chef.
  • Assist in minimizing waste and optimizing resource usage.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with the team to ensure smooth operations during service hours.
  • Provide support for special events, private hires, and other functions as required.
  • Assist in training and mentoring new kitchen team members when necessary.
