The opportunity:
As a General Accountant, you will play an integral role in ensuring accurate financial record-keeping, smooth financial operations, and compliance with tax and regulatory requirements. By supporting startups in their growth journeys, you’ll help create strong financial foundations for success in a challenging and dynamic environment.
Job Description:
Finance Operations:
- Issue invoices and record bills promptly and accurately.
- Process payroll and expense claims.
- Set up bill payments and payroll payments for approval.
Accounting Operations:
- Set up and maintain the Chart of Accounts.
- Perform bank reconciliations and record manual journal entries, including:
- Inventory reconciliations
- Capitalization
- Lease amortization
- Depreciation
Tracking and Documentation:
- Maintain trackers for vendor lists, contracts, employee compensation, fixed assets, and project-based capitalization.
- Organise and store contracts, bills, and invoices for easy retrieval.
Tax Compliance and Reporting:
- Prepare GST filings and corporate tax computations.
- Assist in preparing unaudited financial reports.
Month-End Close Support:
- Collaborate with the FP&A Analyst to ensure smooth and timely month-end close processes.
Requirements:
- Experience: 2-3 years as a general accountant with strong knowledge of GAAP or relevant certifications.
Must-Have:
- Experience in financial operations, including AR, AP, and payroll.
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, and Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with tax filings (federal, state, franchise, sales tax).
- Knowledge of R&D tax credits, W9, and W8 implementation.
Good-to-Have:
- CPA certified or on the CPA track.
- Experience working with US-based startups, managing end-to-end financial operations and bookkeeping.
- Familiarity with payroll software (e.g., Gusto, Rippling) and digital banks (e.g., Brex, Mercury).

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
