JOB DESCRIPTION
Key Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting & Accounting:
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and company policies.
- Oversee daily accounting operations, including managing accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate and timely invoicing, payments, and reconciliations.
- Monitor cash flow, prepare cash forecasts, and ensure funds are properly allocated across business units.
- Prepare and review general ledger entries, accruals, and adjustments.
- Inventory Management & Costing:
- Work closely with the supply chain and operations teams to track inventory levels, sales, and purchase orders.
- Ensure accurate recording of stock movements, valuation, and cost of goods sold (COGS).
- Assist in preparing inventory reports and analyzing variances to support cost control initiatives.
- Budgeting & Financial Planning:
- Assist in the development of annual budgets and forecasts, collaborating with various departments to ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Review department-wise expenses and monitor variances against budget. Recommend corrective actions as needed.
- Taxation & Compliance:
- Support in the preparation and filing of tax returns (Sales Tax, GST, etc.) and ensure compliance with local tax regulations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of any changes in tax laws affecting the fashion retail sector.
- Audit & Internal Controls:
- Prepare for and facilitate both internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and answering queries.
- Ensure adherence to internal control procedures to safeguard assets and ensure accurate reporting.
- Financial Analysis:
- Perform financial analysis and provide key performance metrics (KPIs) to senior management for decision-making, focusing on sales performance, margin analysis, and profitability.
- Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis, cost-benefit analysis, and profitability assessments related to new product lines, store openings, and other strategic initiatives.
- Team Support & Collaboration:
- Support junior accountants and accounting assistants, providing guidance and training where necessary.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., marketing, operations, HR) to provide financial insights that support company strategies.
- System Management & Improvement:
- Maintain and improve accounting systems and software, ensuring accurate data entry and reporting.
- Assist in the implementation of new financial systems or processes to improve operational efficiency.

Pay: RM3,500.00 - RM5,000.00 per month
