Job Description:
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join our team as a Whole School Librarian. As a librarian, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the library, managing the collection, and providing excellent service to library patrons.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain library collections, including selecting, cataloging, and weeding materials
Assist patrons in locating and using library resources
Manage library operations, including opening and closing procedures, scheduling staff, and overseeing the circulation desk
Plan and implement library programs and events, such as book clubs, author talks, and children's storytimes
Stay up-to-date on current library trends and technologies, and implement new tools and resources as needed
Collaborate with other departments and organizations to promote library services and programs
Provide reference and research assistance to library patrons
Maintain accurate records of library transactions and statistics
Train and supervise library staff and volunteers
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field
Minimum of 2 years of experience working in a library setting
Strong customer service skills and a passion for helping others
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Knowledge of library management systems and databases
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed
