Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience:
- Proven experience in catering, food quality assurance, or food safety roles
- Experience in handling halal food preparation and compliance with halal certification standards.
- Halal Certification Knowledge:
- In-depth understanding of halal food preparation, sourcing, and handling processes.
- Knowledge of halal certification bodies and regulations in the catering industry.
- Quality Assurance and Control:
- Strong understanding of QA/QC processes, including inspections, audits, and documentation.
- Experience with food safety standards such as HACCP, ISO 22000, or equivalent.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to spot potential issues with food quality or safety and take appropriate corrective action.
- Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills for training, reporting, and interaction with staff and suppliers.
- Education: A degree or diploma in Food Science, Culinary Arts, or a related field is preferred.
- Food Safety Certification: Certification in food safety (e.g., HACCP, ServSafe, or equivalent) is essential.
- Halal Certification: Certification in halal food handling or a relevant qualification is highly desirable.
