Communications and Engagement Specialist
As a Communication and Engagement Specialist at GSK Business Service Centre, you will drive internal communications and employee engagement, positioning GSK as a premier workplace in Malaysia's shared services industry.
You will develop impactful programs that enhance employee awareness, knowledge, and engagement through innovative and professional communications. Your efforts will ensure employees have access to crucial information, fostering a deep understanding of GSK's culture and purpose-driven environment. In this role, you will collaborate with local stakeholders and global colleagues to tailor activities that align with our corporate strategy and messaging
Key Responsibilities
Internal communications:
Develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive communication plan to keep employees informed and updated on internal company affairs.
Execute timely internal and companywide messaging through effective channels such as email, Workplace by Facebook, signage, and face-to-face interactions.
Measure the effectiveness of communication methods to optimize and improve future strategies.
Stay informed on GSK Global news and communications, ensuring relevant updates are cascaded to the Hub level through appropriate channels.
Oversee the development, dissemination, and feedback on internal communications.
Create, review, advise, and update policies related to culture building, employer branding, employee engagement, and employee communications.
Design, deploy, and administer surveys to assess the effectiveness of employee communication and engagement efforts.
Digital Content creation utilizing industry standard graphic design tools & Video content creation tools (A must)
Employee Engagement:
Develop, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive communication plan to keep employees informed and updated on internal company affairs.
Execute timely internal and companywide messaging through effective channels such as email, Workplace by Facebook, signage, and face-to-face interactions.
Measure the effectiveness of communication methods to optimize and improve future strategies.
Stay informed on GSK Global news and communications, ensuring relevant updates are cascaded to the Hub level through appropriate channels.
Oversee the development, dissemination, and feedback on internal communications.
Design, deploy, and administer surveys to assess the effectiveness of employee communication and engagement efforts.
Lead and oversee the APAC Regional Hub’s employee engagement plan, including new joiner induction sessions with partnership of Hub LT
Support and execute APAC Regional Hub town hall meetings.
Lead and guide the employee resource group (Team Spirit) in delivering culture-building activities to unite the Hub community.
Organize and deliver CSR activities as part of engagement events.
Strengthen employer branding externally by planning and gathering information for external recognition and awards.
Ensure all communication and engagement plans adhere to industry standards, internal policies, and best practices.
Track and record engagement and branding expenditures.
Create impactful storytelling video compilations and other digital content for Hub activities (pre- and post-event).
Work in partnership with GSK’s subject matter experts, communication specialists, and global capability & engagement leads both locally and in other countries
Why you?
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree, preferably Communication degree, HR employee engagement, Marketing & employee change management.
5 to 6 years of working experience in a relevant field, with experience in a shared service (GBS) environment within an MNC being a plus.
Excellent interpersonal skills. Strong and creative writing skills for both internal and external communications.
Strong command of the English language.
Proven ability to initiate and execute various engagement activities in a fast-paced environment.
Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, with a focus on creating PowerPoint presentations.
Experienced in managing multiple levels of stakeholders and working with colleagues from various geographical locations.
Experienced in managing external event organisers and vendors.
Able to initiate and execute various engagement activities and work in a fast-paced environment.
Able to motivate, guide, and lead the employee resource group (ERG)/change champions.
Strong knowledge of digital content creation software such as Camtasia or other video editing or content creation software.
