What to Expect?

  • Lead the System and Operations Chapter’s craftmanship evolution and best practices
  • Foster a collaborative environment where chapter members can freely exchange knowledge and ideas, promoting the growth and improvement of System/Cloud Engineering practices throughout the tribe
  • Mentor chapter members on their personal development and growth path, facilitate their performance reviews, and conduct regular performance dialogues
  • Foster a diverse and skilled workforce, continuously improving existing capabilities or developing new ones based on the tribe's requirements
  • Contribute to the tribe strategy and vision, by offering a broad range of ideas regarding collaboration tools and devices.
  • Manage day-to-day systems administration include the installation, configuration and maintenance of software platforms.
  • Ensure software platforms are upgraded with the latest software and security patches to optimize performance and availability, address vulnerabilities, and comply with security policies.
  • Define and implement solutions to address issues in the area of systems, applications, databases, or a combination thereof.
  • Ensure service continuity and user satisfaction by providing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and quickly resolving issues.
  • Collaborate with network services, software engineering and testing teams to restore availability of services and/or identify root cause of issues.
  • Participate in system/network projects and enhancements by providing technical advice/solutions.
  • Lead improvements on processes, procedures and/or tools; Drive automation.
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation of system configurations, procedures, and changes.
  • Manage deployment and release management activities.

What will make you successful?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience as a Cloud/System Engineer with experience as a Team Lead/Team Manager
  • Solid experience with the installation, configuration and maintenance of operating systems such as Windows Server, Linux or Unix
  • Solid experience with virtualization, such as VMware vSphere, Hyper-v, VMWare WorkStation, VirtualBox
  • Knowledge in the field of network technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN) and security protocols
  • Familiar with authentication methods, data encryption, and also be able to use software tools for monitoring and detecting threats
  • Familiar with data backup and disaster recovery methods and tools
  • Experience in cloud platform, DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
  • Proficient in scripting language and automation tools
  • Certifications such as Red Hat Certified Engineer, CompTIA Server+ Certification, Oracle Linux System Administrator, VMware Certified Professional are highly desired
  • Understand technological trends in own area of responsibility and apply this knowledge to bring solutions to the customers
  • Strong focus on providing excellent customer service and maintaining high standards of quality, with outstanding communication abilities.
  • Capacity to innovate, think out of the box and connect the dots: challenge the status quo, and think out of the box for alternative/most efficient solutions.
  • Strong ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with individuals at all levels and across different departments; proactive, inquisitive, and optimistic attitude.
