Position Summary:
The Safety & Compliance Assistant supports the implementation and maintenance of safety, health, and compliance programs to ensure the organization meets regulatory requirements and promotes a safe working environment. The role involves monitoring compliance practices, maintaining documentation, and assisting in the execution of safety initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safety Program Support:
- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining safety programs and policies.
- Support the coordination of workplace safety audits and inspections.
- Monitor adherence to safety standards, including PPE usage and hazard mitigation.
- Compliance Management:
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Monitor and document compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Assist in the preparation and submission of compliance reports.
- Training & Communication:
- Coordinate safety training sessions and maintain training records.
- Disseminate safety-related communications and updates to employees.
- Act as a point of contact for safety and compliance inquiries.
- Incident Reporting & Investigation:
- Assist in the documentation and investigation of workplace incidents.
- Prepare reports on incidents, near misses, and corrective actions.
- Track follow-ups to ensure corrective actions are implemented.
- Documentation & Record Keeping:
- Maintain accurate and organized records of safety inspections, audits, and training.
- Ensure compliance documentation is readily accessible for internal and external reviews.
- Regularly update the safety and compliance database.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Identify opportunities to enhance safety and compliance programs.
- Recommend and implement improvements to promote a culture of safety.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; a degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a safety, compliance, or administrative role (preferred).
- Certifications: OSHA certification or similar credentials are a plus.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of workplace safety regulations and standards.
- Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.
- Effective verbal and written communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
- Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: RM2,200.00 - RM2,800.00 per month
