To champion all marketing communications and branding concepts and strategies both within the hotel and externally thus maximising hotel’s brand awareness in-line with the hotel’s positioning statement within the targeted markets.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • To develop the hotel’s annual marketing and communications plan so as to support and drive market penetration and overall sales effectiveness through the various business segments.
  • To build strong relationships with the media and ensure media kit and database are updated and ensure the right key messaging via media are delivered.
  • To develop key press releases and key messaging that can drive impact and create brand or product differentiation. To be pro-active in developing niche USP elements and be proactive in approach.
  • To organise media familiarisation trips as and when necessary
  • To develop and maintain commercial relationships with both local and major media contacts to maximise opportunities for exposure and develop awareness plus third party endorsement of the hotel through available channels.
  • To champion and maintain monthly press coverage analysis and press clipping reports.
  • To update Corporate Office on a regular basis, highlighting all key press activities that have been achieved, highlight growth and advertising return in value.
  • To champion media monitoring tools and address public opinions, as well as respond to feedback accordingly, in conjunction with online supportive tools such as Revinate.
  • To champion crisis communications management and develop documents and tools, to ensure crisis are contained and team members are able to react accordingly.
  • To play key role in social media marketing, ensuring the right messages are being delivered and in the right tone.
  • To support in developing key sponsorship/partnership relationships with key marketing partners within local market to support the drive to access key databases within to maximise market penetration to potential customer bases.
  • To support the production of Food and Beverage collaterals, advertising, and promotional activities in consultation with Director of Food & Beverage and General Manager.
  • To be the champion of hotel “Branding” thus cascading communications that supports the hotels core/essence concepts within all communication methods.
  • To support in developing the hotel’s photographic library

SKILLS AND ATTITUDE REQUIRED:

  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking required.
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
  • Demonstrated creativity and documented immersion in social media.
  • Experience in resourceful sourcing and managing content development and publishing.
  • Has excellent verbal and written communication skills and an ability to work individually on a project or in a team environment.
  • Positive attitude and capability of looking from an outside the box perspective.

This position is based in Penang and will be part of the pre-opening team for M Social Penang.
