Operation Manager (Shipping Industry)

We are seeking an Operation Manager for Logistics and Shipping company.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in managing large-scale container shipping operations within Malaysia.
• Knowledge of Malaysian maritime law and international trade regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily container shipping operations and shipping agency activities.
• Handle shipment-related internal communications and coordinate with shipping lines.
• Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction through effective and efficient service delivery.
• Lead and manage the export shipping team by implementing strategies to improve service delivery and transit time performance.
• Provide training, support, and performance reviews for team members.
• Coordinate with liners and shipping partners to ensure seamless cargo movement.
• Manage container inventory and tracking systems for timely and accurate shipments.
• Optimize logistics processes to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
• Partner with HR to update and maintain office policies.
• Coordinate recruitment efforts and assist with the onboarding process in collaboration with the HR team.
• Manage contracts and price negotiations with office vendors, service providers, and lease agreements.
• Oversee the General & Administrative (G&A) budget for the office and ensure proper reporting and control.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or related field (preferred).
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in logistics, shipping, or operations management roles.
• Strong knowledge of container shipping processes, logistics coordination, and shipping compliance.
