Key Responsibilities: 1. Project Analysis: Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to understand the scope and requirements of the project. Conduct site visits to gather information about existing conditions and project requirements (if required). Analyze project blueprints and technical documents to estimate materials, labor, and equipment needs. Identify and assess potential risks that may impact project costs and provide recommendations for risk mitigation. 2. Cost Estimation: Develop detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, subcontractors, and other project-related expenses. This includes creating itemized lists and calculating quantities. Analyze cost data, historical project performance, and industry trends to provide accurate cost projections and identify potential cost-saving opportunities. Contact suppliers, subcontractors, and other service providers to gather price quotes and negotiate favorable terms and pricing. 3. Value Engineering: Work with project teams to find cost-effective alternatives or improvements without compromising project quality or functionality. 4. Bid Preparation: Prepare and submit comprehensive bid packages and proposals for project submission to clients, ensuring that all costs are accurately accounted for. Work closely with the bidding team to ensure that all aspects of the project are covered in the proposal. Provide clear and detailed cost breakdowns and explanations for the clients. 5. Negotiation: Participate in negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to achieve cost-effective solutions without compromising the quality and integrity of the project. 6. Budgeting: Collaborate with project managers and stakeholders to establish project budgets and monitor costs throughout the project's lifecycle. 7. Cost Reporting: Provide regular reports and updates to Management Team, Project manager, Site manager and stakeholders on cost projections, variances, and any changes in budgetary status. 8. Communication: Communicate effectively with clients, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and internal teams. Address client queries and concerns regarding the cost estimates and project scope. 9. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of cost estimates, bids, and relevant documents. Update cost databases and pricing information regularly to ensure accuracy in future estimates. 10. Quality Assurance: Ensure that all cost estimates and budgeting activities comply with industry standards, regulations, and company policies. Stay updated with the latest construction methods, materials, and industry trends. Continuously improve estimating techniques and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency in the estimation process. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., quantity surveying, engineering, or equivalent) is typically required. Minimum 3 years’ experience in quantity surveying and sub-contract administration of Construction Project Proven knowledge in Fire and Electrical System with industry-specific regulations and standards would be an added advantage. Proficiency in using construction estimating software and tools. Familiar with Microsoft Project, and AutoCAD would be added advantage. Strong analytical and mathematical skills. Excellent written, communication and negotiation skills. Attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Ability to work collaboratively in a team and adapt to changing project requirements. Capable of working under pressure.
