Basic Job Purpose

The role of Head of Integrity is crucial in ensuring that an organisation adheres to ethical standards, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. To also ensure that all the four key functions of the department namely the complaint management, detection and verification, integrity strengthening and governance in creating a corruption-free business environment are being conducted in a timely manner towards meeting the requirement of the authorities, board of directors and management as well as to closely monitor the successful implementation of the Departmental KPI. In summary the Head of Integrity must be effectively uphold and promote ethical standards and compliance within an organisation.

Role & Responsibilities

  • Develop and Implement Policies: Create and enforce policies and procedures to ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Monitor Compliance: Oversee and assess adherence to regulations, laws, and internal policies.
  • Risk Management: Identify, evaluate, and manage risks related to integrity and compliance.
  • Conduct Investigations: Lead investigations into ethical breaches or compliance violations and recommend corrective actions.
  • Advise Leadership: Provide guidance to senior management on ethical and compliance matters and support decision-making.
  • Crisis Management: Manage and respond to crises that affect the organisation's integrity and reputation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders including regulators and industry group.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present reports on compliance status, integrity issues and risk management to the board and other key stakeholders.
  • Promote Culture of Integrity: Foster an organisational culture that prioritizes ethical behaviour and compliance.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Investment Related Qualification with at least 15 years of experience in Investment and Unit Trust domain.
  • Ethical Judgement: Strong ability to make decisions based on ethical principles and ensure that organisational practices align with ethical standards.
  • Compliance Knowledge: In-depth understanding of relevant laws, regulations and industry standards (e.g.,anti-corruption laws, data protection regulations).
  • Risk Management: Skills in identifying, assessing, and managing risks related to integrity and compliance.
  • Leadership & Management: Ability to lead and manage teams, influence organisational culture and promote a culture of integrity and compliance.
  • Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills to assess complex situations, conduct investigations and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey policies, procedures and expectations to all level of the organisation.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail to ensure thoroughness in investigations and accuracy in compliance reporting.
  • Problem-Solving: Capability to address and resolve ethical issues and compliance challenges in a timely and effective manner.
  • Conflict Resolution: Skills in managing and resolving conflicts related to ethical issues and compliance matters.
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to develop and implement strategic plans to enhance organisational integrity and compliance efforts.
  • Crisis Management: Experience in handling crises and managing situations that pose a risk to the organisation’s reputation and integrity.
  • Stakeholder Management: Ability to engage with and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies and industry groups.
  • Technology Proficiency: Familiarity with compliance management software and tools to streamline processes and monitor adherence to policies.
  • Preferably those who have completed the Certified Integrity Officer (CeIO) program under the MACC Academy.
