Job Summary

The Finance Manager will take charge for the overall financial management and accounting functions of the company. Additionally, the person is responsible for working capital management and treasury matters.

He/she will be a key business partner for the Managing Director to drive medium and long-term profitability, track performance and liaise with other departments to ensure business growth.

Day to day job responsibilities include:

  • Verify and release daily payment issued by AP team
  • Upload and submit the invoice to customers platform
  • Assist and advise on release customer order
  • In charged for CTOS and credit recovery for bad debt included issue for reminder letter and notice of demand
  • Credit assessment for new customer's new credit application
  • Monitor and follow up long outstanding overdue from time to time
  • Oversee the account department daily operation tasks
  • Arrange for fund transfer
  • Be the local key-user expert of accounting system (AutoCount, JDE) and reporting tool (OneSteam) and support on issues and security
  • Responsible for year-end closing and liaise with auditor for year-end stock take
  • Manage the annual tax filing, tax estimates and tax submission to the Inland Revenue Authority
  • Undertake any ad-hoc tasks or assignments that are assigned, as and when required by Management.
  • Leading a team of staff in reviewing current processes, establishing best practices and implementing streamlined workflows to drive operational efficiency
  • Communication with external business partners like banks, tax authorities, auditors, tax advisors, etc. in Malaysia.

Reporting and Compliance:

  • Supervise financial statement for statutory report and group reporting, manage monthly closing activities (journals, income and deferred tax computation, adjustments to statutory report etc.)
  • Ensure financial and regulatory compliance, being the key contact to interact with internal and external stakeholders with regards to compliance, internal and external audit, and tax
  • Work with external auditors and tax agent to ensure the annual statutory audit is executed and in a timely manner
  • Coordinate with corporate secretary for the filing of annual report, directors’ resolutions, and any other related matters
  • Attend to the Group’s internal audit review and execution of improvement recommendation.

Performance management & controlling

  • Assess the business profitability, cost variance, KPIs deficiencies, and overall performance and identify opportunities to optimise profitability.
  • Support the Managing Director in working capital optimisation including stock review and adequate provision
  • Prepare monthly cash flow forecast when necessary, reconciling sales forecast and procurement.
  • Prepare the budget, quarterly forecasts, and long-term plan processes for Euro-chemo Pharma and present it to the management.
  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc report to Management on financial performance of the companies.
  • Play a lead role in driving strong collaboration and communication between all stakeholders of financial performance and controls.

Job Requirements:

  • University Degree in Finance or Accounting; MBA or advanced degree/CPA preferred
  • At least 8 years of working experience in the related field with minimum 3 years of Big 4 experience in external auditing
  • Experienced in financial planning, budget forecast, reporting, strong analytical skill set
  • Proficient in Accounting System (AutoCount, JDE, etc.) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Powerpoint)
  • Project management ability: used to coordinate actions between different departments involved
  • Ideally experience in integration projects and ERP roll out
  • Possess a positive working attitude, initiative, willing to learn, problem-solving attitude and is a good team player
  • The ability to communicate articulately and efficiently with other people within the company
  • Ability to prioritise and manage expectations
  • Well planned, organized with keen attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, think strategically, and demonstrate leadership skills
