Job Summary: We are looking for an experienced and motivated Purchasing Officer / Purchasing Executive with at least 6 years of experience in electronic manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record as a direct buyer, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring the procurement of quality materials at the best possible prices. Key Responsibilities: • Supplier Relationship Management: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating for the best pricing and terms. • Purchase Order Management: Create new purchase orders and communicate with suppliers about new PO's and confirmation dates. • Daily Supplier Communication: Manage daily communications with suppliers to address critical shipments and material schedules. • Escalation Management: Escalate critical situations to upper management as needed. • Negotiation: Negotiate prices, lead times, and minimum order quantities (MOQ's) with suppliers. • Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages and excesses. Collaborate with the production and inventory teams to forecast material needs and align purchasing activities accordingly. • Risk Identification: Identify risks in the supply chain and highlight issues to upper management. • Quality Assurance: Work closely with the quality assurance team to ensure all purchased materials meet the required specifications and standards. Address any quality issues promptly with suppliers. • Market Analysis: Analyze market trends to make informed purchasing decisions. • Compliance: Ensure all purchasing activities comply with company procedures and work instructions related to purchasing practices. • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and finance, to ensure alignment on material requirements and purchasing strategies. Qualifications: • Education: Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field • Experience: At least 6 years of experience in a related field, preferably in Purchasing, Inventory, or Material Management. Experience as a direct materials purchaser and NPI coordinator is advantageous. Skills: • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in Excel, Microsoft Word, and PowerPoint. • Strong negotiation and problem resolution skills. • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a wide variety of internal and external stakeholders. • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with team members, clients, and suppliers. • Ability to evaluate, prioritize, and solve a variety of tasks to ensure timely and accurate completion. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. • Knowledge: • Proficiency with MRP/ERP systems. • Solid understanding of supply chain and purchasing principles. • Knowledge of logistics and financial principles related to procurement.
