Responsibilities: - Designing, configuring, and testing networking software, computer hardware, and operating system software - Determining company needs and coordinating the development and maintenance of network infrastructures with the IT team - Ensuring secure and stable server connectivity and testing network protocols - Maintaining and administering computer networks and related computing environments including systems software, applications software, hardware, and configurations - Creating internet domains and optimizing intranet performance - Installing, updating, and configuring end-user networking accessories - Replacing faulty computer system and network hardware components when required - Troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving hardware, software, and other network and system problems - Monitoring server capacity and performance to keep up with demand in online traffic - Monitoring network performance to determine if adjustments need to be made - Running diagnostic tests and performing repairs, as well as developing backup, archiving, and data retrieval procedures - Training junior IT staff, preparing user manuals, and providing remote or onsite technical support - Enhancing network security, as well as documenting network processes and cabling layouts - Keeping informed of developments in network technologies and infrastructure - Protecting data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning, and implementing network security measures - Assisting the IT team in performing disaster recovery operations - Assisting the IT security team to perform Proof of Concepts, vulnerability assessment and penetration testing on computer network and infrastructure Requirements: - A solid degree in Computer Science, Information Science or similar major from a reputable university - Certified CompTIA, Microsoft, or Cisco network professional is preferred - A minimum of two years’ experience as a network engineer, administrator or specialist - Knowledge or experience in cloud technologies would be an added advantage - Extensive knowledge of network connectivity, technologies, protocols, and security - Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems - Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and internet resources - Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills - Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills - Great organizational and time management skills
