DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. To manage and supervise the shift activities of the Power Plant, i.e (Waste to Energy (WSF) and Waste Segregation Facility (WSF) and co-ordinate the integration of maintenance activities, setting priorities on a daily basis and defining the operational concerns with regard to long term planning requirements 2. To operate the Power Plant in a prudent manner within the given plant constraints, in accordance with the regulation and requirement of the Regulatory Acts and Regulations 3. Ensure that operational reporting is conducted in accordance with the contractual requirements, management requirements and quality procedures 4. Acting as the Plant Manager’s authorized deputy outside normal office hours 5. Taking decisions and initiating action during non-routine events during the shift. Acting as Emergency Controller during the initial stages of an incident/emergency 6. Analyse operational incidents and make recommendations or changes in procedures to develop safe and efficient working practices for thermal, chemical, and physical chemical processes. 7. To play a leading role, both by example and encouragement in promoting ab effective safety culture and securing compliance with all company and legislative Health and Safety requirement. 8. Liaison with Engineers and Technicians from other departments to ensure that the shift team obtains the necessary support and coordinate in prioritizing the plant defects. 9. Maintain a high safety and quality conscious working environment and ensure compliance with all QHSE and legislative Health & Safety and Environmental requirements. 10. Ensure that operational reporting is conducted in accordance with the contractual requirements, management requirements and quality procedures. QUALIFICATION 1. Bachelor’s degree or suitable technical qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering. 2. Minimum of 8 years' experience in the maintenance of Thermal Power Plants. 3. A detailed knowledge of engineering practices, function and processes involved in power plant operation and maintenance. 4. First Grade Steam Boiler Driver (Boilerman)
