The Technical Service Manager (Industrial Lubrication) serves as a key technical resource, providing expertise in lubrication solutions for a diverse range of industrial applications. This role bridges the gap between R&D, production, and customer needs, ensuring solutions that enhance the performance of metalworking fluids (MWF), hydraulic fluids, and other lubrication systems. Responsibilities include supporting clients across sectors such as manufacturing, textiles, automotive, and emerging industrial fields, guiding them from development to commercialization. In addition to technical support, the position also involves collaborating with sales and marketing teams to promote the company’s products through technical presentations, industry events, and product launches, driving innovation and customer satisfaction.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Technical Support:

  • Provide technical guidance to customers on lubrication strategies, including product selection, application methods, and troubleshooting.
  • Address product performance issues in customer applications, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
  • Conduct on-site visits to assist in trials, support product launches, and resolve technical challenges in various industrial environments.

Application Support and Expansion:

  • Collaborate with R&D teams to develop customized lubrication solutions that meet specific customer needs.
  • Work with product development teams to test and introduce new lubrication products and additives to the market.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes affecting industrial lubrication.

Product Expertise:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in the application of lubrication solutions, including metalworking fluids (MWF), hydraulic fluids, and other specialized industrial lubricants.
  • Provide technical insights on the use of these products in sectors such as textiles, automotive, marine, and refrigeration, ensuring their optimal performance.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Support the sales team with technical presentations, product demonstrations, and training materials.
  • Participate in technical seminars, webinars, and industry conferences to promote the company’s products.
  • Collaborate with quality control and production teams to ensure product specifications align with customer needs.

Product Expertise & Promotion:

  • Work with sales and marketing teams to communicate the technical benefits of lubrication products.
  • Prepare and deliver technical presentations to showcase product performance and capabilities.
  • Represent the company at trade shows, conferences, and customer events, promoting the company’s product offerings in the industrial lubrication space.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Maintain detailed documentation of customer interactions, technical service reports, and product performance data.
  • Provide regular feedback to the R&D and production teams to continuously improve product offerings.

JOB SUCCESS REQUIREMENTS

  • PhD in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry (with a focus on industrial or applied chemistry), Materials Science or a related field is preferred, or a Master’s degree with extensive industry experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in technical service, product development, or application engineering within industrial lubrication or related sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of lubrication chemistry, including additives, emulsifiers, and surfactants.
  • Proven ability to provide technical support and troubleshooting for customers.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed to support customer needs.
