Buyer (new role based in Kulim, Kedah)

As a world-class industrial technology and thermal products leader, Watlow designs and manufactures heating solutions consisting primarily of electric resistive heaters, temperature sensors, temperature and power controllers and supporting software – all the components of a thermal system. We partner with our customers to optimize thermal performance, decrease design time, and improve the efficiency of products and applications. Watlow brings 100 years of experience to numerous industries, including semiconductor processing, clean environment technology, energy generation, diesel emissions, medical and food service equipment.

Position Summary:

Manages incoming internal purchasing requests, generating external purchasing requests, and tracking delivery of goods and services. Purchases and negotiates materials, equipment, and supplies from suppliers.

** There are two new roles:

• Indirect Materials Buyer (MUST have experiences in buying non-production consumables and all other stuff that cater our facility needs)
• MRO Buyer (MUST have experiences in buying production consumables)

Delivery:

• Plan and coordinate physical movement of materials, parts, finished goods, and information to ensure optimization of cost and service level.
• Manages incoming internal purchasing requests, generating external purchasing requests, and tracking delivery of goods and services.
• Purchases and negotiates materials, equipment, and supplies from suppliers.
• Evaluates supplier quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers.
• Develops & Manages supply base through use of supplier selection, corrective actions, audits and feedback systems.

• Negotiates requirements for pre-productions samples.
• Review and follow-up on late supplier shipments.

Education, Experience and Certification Requirements:

• Preferred Bachelor’s degree or Technical Qualification with related experience (3-5 years)
