We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team of educators.

In this role, you will be responsible for instructing groups of students with mild to moderate learning disabilities.

Your ultimate goal will be to provide guidance and inspiration to help children achieve important learning milestones.

Responsibilities

  • Assess students’ abilities, develop teaching plans, and adapt learning materials according to students’ needs.
  • To develop and prepare differentiation in curriculum and lessons to cater to students with different ability levels.
  • Deliver personalized instructions to each student by encouraging interactive learning.
  • Keep track of and reflect on students’ progress.
  • To prepare and to write assessments and progress reports.
  • Monitor children’s behavioural patterns and arrange appropriate interventions if needed.
  • Find engaging activities to teach skills (e.g., music, arts and crafts, and drama).
  • Supervise classes to ensure all students are learning in a clean, safe, and productive environment.
  • Manage classroom crises and resolve conflict.
  • Prepare students for transition to the next grade or inclusive class.
  • Inform parents about their children’s performance and potential problems.
  • Prepare evaluations and report students’ progress to parents.
  • Collaborate with counsellors, occupational therapists, psychologists, and parents to create holistic intervention plans.
  • Organise and participate in all school events.

Requirements and skills

  • Proven experience as a Special Education Teacher
  • Good knowledge of current special education subjects and methods
  • Extensive experience working with children with a wide range of disabilities
  • Ability to develop and review IEP (Individual Education Plan) and EIP (Early Intervention Program) for different student needs.
  • Able to use a multi-sensory approach. Familiar with PECS and ABA
  • Possess a patient, caring, resourceful, and resilient personality.
  • Qualifications in Special Education
  • Good interpersonal skills and time management skills. Willing to work in a team and follow instructions given.
  • Dedicated and passionate about special education. Able to work extra hours when required.
  • Having a positive attitude with a friendly and outgoing personality.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
