Senior/Principal Electrical Engineer with Experience in Solar and Renewable Energy

As an Electrical Engineer with Experience in Solar and Renewable Energy, you are expected to have knowledge/experience in the following scope:

1. Electrical Design in accordance to MS IEC 60364, MS1936, MS 1979 and other related standards.

Overcurrent Design

Earth fault protection Design

Cable Sizing

Load Sizing

ELV Design

Lightning and Earthing design

2. Mastering software skills such as CAD, lighting simulation etc.

3. Exposure to physical constructional site.

4. Meeting up various professional and understand multidiscipline role.

5. Develop project management skills.

6. Conducting Industrial research such as Industrial Product specification comparison, feasibility studies etc.

7. Charting your route to Professional Engineer (Ir. Status)

8. Lead engineering and design for Solar PV and RE projects.

9. Strong knowledge of photovoltaic system design, engineering and system components optimization for small to Large Scale Solar PV systems.

10. Experience with PV System energy modeling tools and ability to run simulation on PVsyst and capable to do optimization and production modelling.

11. Detail design of AC electrical system of LV/11kV/33kV/132kV.

12. Responsible for creating and maintaining standard designing packages and leading the evaluation of alternate designs.

13. Generation estimation and preparation of performance model.

14. Create detailed Bills of Materials (BoM) for projects. Experience in creating and finalizing BoM with required standards and specifications from the plant design.

15. Understanding of the Balance of Systems (BOS) and its operations.

16. Knowledge of electric substation and interconnection systems.

17. Field experience in installation, startup and commissioning.

18. Coordination with suppliers and contractors.

19. Prepare standard technical documentation & making required changes as per the site conditions and proposal requirements.

20. Provide engineering and technical support during the Solar PV RFI and RFP process as needed.

What you do?

  • You will be assigned to facilitate projects as on-job training.
  • You will be guided to conduct Engineering Feasibility Study
  • You are expected to meet multidiscipline Engineers and other professional including Architect and Surveyor.
  • You will be trained to conduct tender practice.
  • You are required to conduct industrial research to keep yourself update with latest technologies.
  • Undergo career guidance by company’s directors and attend networking session with various professional institutions/associations and providing a clear and structured training towards Professional Engineering Status.

Requirement:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Electrical) recognised by Board of Engineers Malaysia.
  • Electrical Engineer with 5 years experience in Solar and Renewable Energy
  • Experience of PV system, energy storage systems design and installation
  • Possesses of Grid-Connected Photovoltaic (GCPV) and / or Off-Grid will be an added advantage.
  • Hardworking and willing to learn
  • Full-time position available
  • Required skills: Cad Software, Microsoft Word & Excel (Computer literate)
  • Required languages: English and Bahasa Malaysia
