Salary: Up to MYR 12,000 per month

Role Overview:

This position is responsible for overseeing day-to-day airfreight operations and ensuring high service quality for both internal and external customers. Reporting to the General Manager of Freight Forwarding Operations, the role emphasizes optimizing processes and driving continuous improvement across logistics functions. The Air Freight Branch Operations Manager will work closely with various department leaders to enhance operational efficiency and meet business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee import/export operations, including customs clearance.
  • Ensure timely responses to operational inquiries within the same day or within 24 hours.
  • Identify and mitigate potential risks in airfreight operations, including capacity constraints.
  • Manage rate inquiries and ensure timely delivery of quotations.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key airlines, negotiate contracts, and manage ad hoc shipments.
  • Address customer inquiries and complaints, fostering strong client relationships.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and tracking of key milestones (work orders, departures, arrivals, customs clearance) as per standard operating procedures.
  • Supervise accurate billing, ensuring costs and profits are properly maintained.
  • Monitor timely completion of job files and sign off on completed files.
  • Ensure proper accruals are made for month-end closing and sign off accrual reports.
  • Track shipment data quality and address discrepancies in the internal global system.
  • Review mandatory status reports and correct errors before generating monthly results.
  • Train the operations team on standard operating procedures, data quality, and system-related matters.
  • Manage claims related to missing or damaged cargo.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with financial budgets.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Minimum 4-5 years of experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or air cargo.
  • Diploma or degree in logistics, operations, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of trucking operations and industry-leading SLAs.
  • Proven experience in managing relationships with external transport vendors and partners.
  • Ability to effectively manage relationships with customers and subcontractors from negotiation to delivery.
  • Demonstrated success in handling fluctuating shipment volumes in high-pressure environments.
  • Basic understanding of ISO management systems.

Additional Information:

  • Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM - 6:30 PM.
  • Pay day: 25th of each month.
  • Holidays: According to Federal and State regulations.
