Position Overview:
As a Branch Manager at a leading MNC Freight Forwarder, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of the Klang Branch.You will play a pivotal role in leading a team of professionals, fostering client relationships, and ensuring the branch's overall profitability and growth.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales & Operational Oversight:
- Supervise all facets of branch sales and operational activities, including import/export processes, customs clearance, warehousing, and transportation services.
- Formulate and implement streamlined operational processes to enhance productivity and reduce expenses.
- Ensure all operations comply with relevant regulations and industry standards.
Team Leadership:
- Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing team of freight forwarding professionals.
- Direct the sales team's activities, set performance targets, and monitor their achievements.
- Establish clear performance objectives and provide ongoing feedback to facilitate employee growth.
- Cultivate a positive and collaborative work environment that encourages teamwork and employee engagement.
Client Engagement:
- Develop and maintain robust relationships with existing clients, promptly addressing their needs and concerns.
- Seek and secure new business opportunities to expand the branch's client base.
- Ensure outstanding customer service and strive to exceed client expectations.
Financial Stewardship:
- Develop and manage the branch budget, tracking expenses and revenue to meet profitability goals.
- Implement cost-effective strategies to improve financial performance.
- Generate regular financial reports and forecasts for senior management review.
Regulatory Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure the branch complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and safety standards.
- Promote a culture of operational excellence and responsible work practices within the branch.
Market Intelligence and Strategy:
- Stay updated on industry trends, market developments, and competitor activities.
- Contribute to the creation and execution of the branch's strategic plans and growth initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- Must be able to speak in Mandarin/Hokkien or Cantonese
- Must handle PnL in their current role
- Proven experience (5+ years) in freight forwarding and logistics, with a successful leadership track record.
- Strong knowledge of the Malaysian logistics and transportation market.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Proficient in logistics and supply chain management software.
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze and interpret financial data.
- Results-oriented with a focus on achieving targets and delivering exceptional customer service.
- Familiarity with customs regulations and international trade practices.
