Responsibilities
- The Sr. Cost Control Engineer is working under the direction of the Project Control Manager performs the overall cost control integration function including control budget maintenance, commitment monitoring, expenditure reporting, cost estimates to completion, and project cost reporting activities.
- Coordinates development program control budget in conjunction with program directorate and project management teams.
- Monitors and maintains program control budget and estimates at completion with updates received from the project change coordinator, contract administration, and project management teams at project locations.
- Raised to Project Manager & Project Control Manager potential item cost overrun.
- Coordinates cost control input from project teams at project locations to develop program cost reports in compliance with contract and corporate requirements.
- Assess the impact of project changes, variations, and scope adjustments on overall project costs.
- Review and validate change orders, ensuring accurate cost implications are reflected in project budgets.
- Identify potential cost risks and opportunities that may impact the project's financial performance.
- Verify invoices and vendor & subcontractor progress claims against contractual terms and conditions.
- Provides recommendations for corrective action to the program directorate.
- Consolidate and compare past estimates to recent proposals, and completed projects to better understand internal capabilities, and trends and provide better walking-away pricing.
- Train junior personnel in all aspects of cost reporting.
Qualifications
- Minimum 6-11 years working in EPC Projects
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction or equivalent from an accredited college or university.
- Fluent in written and spoken English language.
- High computer literacy specifically Microsoft Excel and good working knowledge of relevant cost software
- Intermediate to Advance user competency in SAP system
- Leadership skill to manage different cultures and cross function leads.
- Strong management communication and interpersonal skills.
- Has good working knowledge and understanding of cost, schedule, estimating, and accounting interfaces
- Demonstrated effectiveness in prioritizing multiple tasks, and managing efforts to meet deadlines
