Job Summary:
As the Legal Compliance Assistant Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring that the company adheres to all legal and regulatory requirements. You will assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining compliance programs, policies, and procedures to support our business activities. The ideal candidate is knowledgeable in legal compliance within the insurance industry, highly organized, and able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing compliance policies, procedures, and controls to ensure adherence to local, state, and federal regulations for insurance brokers.
- Conduct regular assessments to identify areas for improvement in compliance and operational practices.
- Provide guidance and support to various departments on legal compliance matters, including but not limited to data protection, anti-money laundering (AML), and Know Your Customer (KYC) processes.
- Monitor regulatory changes and ensure timely updates to policies and practices.
- Prepare and submit required regulatory filings and reports.
- Support in conducting training sessions to educate employees on compliance standards and legal responsibilities.
- Collaborate with the legal team to investigate and resolve compliance-related issues or breaches.
- Assist in drafting, reviewing, and updating legal documents, contracts, and policies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business, or a related field.
- Proven experience in legal compliance, ideally within the insurance or financial services industry.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks relevant to insurance brokers (AML, KYC, data protection).
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Certification in Compliance (CAMS, CIPP, etc.) is an advantage.
