Job Purpose
1. Provide an advisory role to the business unit on procuring goods and services for activities of high risk and complexity.
1. Oversee and leading the sourcing process within an organization and ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services of high risk and complexity needed.
2. Responsible for providing end-to-end advisory role on procuring goods and service of high risk and complexity and procurement systems to ensure that they are aligned with MDEC approved policies and procedures.
Duties & Responsibilities
2. Assume leading sourcing roles within procurement.
1. Assesses, develops, and implements long and short-range plans that support the business unit in procuring goods and services.
2. Works with the business unit to ensure early procurement involvement in developing purchasing strategic plans.
3. Responsible for establishing, executing, and tracking procurement project plans.
4. Recommends and implements improvements in procurement processes.
5. Responsible for supporting the business unit in their procurement activities within the assigned location or geography.
6. May participate in procuring activities in support of multiple business units.
7. Communicates and negotiates with the business unit, suppliers, and management team.
8. Prepares presentations for procurement-related activities.
9. Accountable to ensure that MDEC policies, processes, and guidelines are understood and followed.
10. Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
1. Bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
2. Minimum of 5–10 years of progressive experience in procurement, with a focus on strategic procurement and vendor management.
3. Relevant procurement professional certifications, if any.
