We are currently seeking a Senior Flow Assurance Engineer to join our team based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
About The Role:
The Environmental & Decommissioning team currently has a vacancy for a Senior/Principal Environmental Specialist with experience in GHG or carbon management. If you enjoy a fast-paced working environment, developing approaches to combine technical challenges with regulatory compliance then we would love to hear from you.
You will work as part of a highly skilled team, working with a wide range of clients on varied and interesting projects related to the energy industry. The Genesis Environment Team comprises a broad range of specialists including engineers, marine biologists, chemists, acousticians, and GIS specialists.
You will primarily be involved in the preparation and submission of a range of environmental engineering deliverables including undertaking environmental issues identification (ENVID), Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions inventory, effluent discharge calculations, Best Available Techniques (BAT) studies, and supporting clients’ decarbonization and energy transition activities. In addition, you will also support other projects carried out in the Genesis office for a wide range of clients such as the development of environmental permitting requirements, environmental impact assessments, environmental management plans, and sustainability-related services, in line with regulatory and client specific requirements.
About The Job
The successful candidate will work within the Environment & Decommissioning Team, interfacing with the wider Genesis organisation through interactions with other discipline teams and providing environmental technical inputs on a variety of projects for public and private clients in Malaysia and overseas.
The team provides a wide variety of environmental consulting, typical responsibilities include:
- Identify and assess opportunities for de-carbonisation including energy efficiency measures, flare management, methane reduction and renewable energy options.
- Characterisation, quantification, and forecasting of emissions and discharges.
- Review of engineering design documentation and drawings in support of environmental studies.
- Undertake carbon footprint assessments following the GHG Protocol.
- Identification and interpretation of relevant regulations and standards.
- Provision of environmental engineering technical and compliance advice.
- Input to HAZID/ENVID reviews and multi-discipline engineering projects.
- Ensures technical project execution within time and budget by supervising assigned engineers, and coordinating with Clients and other engineering disciplines.
- Ensure full compliance with Company rules and procedures and adherence to the procedures.
- Interact with its Genesis peers globally to share best practices.
About You
Qualifications & Experience:
Required Skills:
- Degree in a relevant science or engineering field.
- Approximately 8-10 years’ work experience in a relevant field.
- Working knowledge in GHG/ carbon reporting, carbon trading, and climate financing regulations, policies, standards and/or requirements.
- Experience in conducting GHG emission calculations, effluent discharge calculations and other related environmental engineering studies.
- Project management experience on small to medium projects.
- Experience in managing client relationships.
- Strong team player.
- Well-motivated and able to work to tight deadlines.
- Ability to understand and manage project schedules and Gantt Charts.
- Deliver assigned tasks on time and on budget, and identify and report risk of task overruns.
- Ability to identify and implement improvements.
- Excellent written skills with attention to detail.
Successful applicants will preferably have:

- Experience in preparing proposals.
- Knowledge of environmental engineering techniques and solutions (pollution control and mitigation).
- Knowledge in environmental assessments/permitting studies.
