Software Engineer (PHP,Laravel)

Overview: We are seeking a Junior Software Engineer to assist in the development and maintenance of web applications using PHP and the Laravel framework. The role will involve working closely with senior engineers and project managers to ensure the timely and secure delivery of projects.

Key Responsibilities:

• Software Development & Maintenance:
• Collaborate in the development of new features and applications in accordance with company coding standards.
• Support the maintenance and enhancement of existing systems, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
• Team Collaboration:
• Work alongside senior engineers and the broader development team to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Participate in code reviews to improve technical skills and ensure best practices are followed across the team.
• Testing & Debugging:
• Perform basic testing of applications to identify and resolve bugs, enhancing overall software quality.
• Collaborate with the QA team to review testing results and implement necessary code adjustments.
• Technical Documentation:
• Develop and maintain detailed documentation for applications, including system architecture, code comments, and API guides to facilitate future development.
• Continuous Learning:
• Stay current with industry trends and technologies by participating in learning opportunities, with the goal of advancing technical knowledge.

• Software Design & Implementation:
• Assist in the design and implementation of software solutions using relevant programming languages and technologies.
• Agile Development:
• Actively engage in agile development methodologies, including participation in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Version Control:
• Use version control systems like Git to manage code changes and collaborate effectively with the development team.
• Unit Testing:
• Write and maintain unit tests to ensure code functionality and reliability, working with the QA team to adopt best practices in testing.
• Learning & Growth:
• Show eagerness to learn from senior team members, adapt to evolving technologies, and take on greater responsibilities over time.

Job Requirements:

Skills & Attributes:

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Familiarity with PHP and Laravel.
• Basic knowledge of MySQL databases.
• Understanding of Linux CLI, AWS CLI, and shell scripting.
• Basic experience with AWS services (VPC, EC2, S3, RDS, Elastic Beanstalk, CloudFormation, Lambda).
• Proficiency with version control systems, particularly GitLab.
• Willingness to learn and improve PHP, Laravel, AWS, and GitLab skills.
• Good problem-solving and analytical thinking.

Qualifications & Experience:

Required:

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a similar role.
• Degree or professional certification in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

Preferred:

• AWS certification.
• Experience with PHP and Laravel in a production environment.
• Prior experience in web application development.
• Awareness of web application security best practices.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM6,000.00 per month
