If you are looking to grow in an enriching career filled with opportunities and potential, we are seeking a professional to join our team as Senior Credit Analyst (Investment-Fixed Income). In this role, you will conduct credit assessment and monitoring for issuers/ borrowers in the Corporate Bonds and Loans (“CBL”) portfolio to identify new investment opportunities and keeps abreast of material developments to ensure early detection of credit deterioration which could impact GELM’s investment performance.

The Role:

  • Performs credit analysis of issuers/ borrowers to identify appropriate CBL investment opportunities.
  • Prepares credit proposals and recommends such investment to the respective approving authorities.
  • Reviews and monitors existing CBL exposures on a timely basis.
  • Trains and guides junior credit analysts, including reviewing their work.
  • Continues the enhancement and maintenance of GELM’s Internal Credit Scoring Model.
  • Conducts country and/ or sector assessments, where necessary.
  • Liaises with external parties i.e. rating agencies, solicitors, investment banks, and trustees in credit assessment and/ or monitoring processes.
  • Works alongside other departments i.e. joint reporting with Finance, Risk, and/ or Legal Teams.
  • Assists and manages problem credits, participates in restructuring/ recovery exercise, vetting of relevant legal documents; where applicable.
  • Undertakes specific/ ad-hoc tasks and/ or projects related to credit matters.
  • Ensures compliance with internal/ external policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Takes accountability in considering business and regulatory compliance risks and takes appropriate steps to mitigate the risks.
  • Maintains awareness of industry trends on regulatory compliance, emerging threats and technologies in order to understand the risk and better safeguard the company.
  • Highlights any potential concerns /risks and proactively shares best risk management practices.

The Person:

Qualification and/ or professional requirements

  • Minimum tertiary qualification in Business, Economics, Finance, Banking or Accounting.
  • Chartered Financial Analyst or Post Graduate qualification has an added advantage.

Working experience, skillsets and/ or knowledge

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in credit analysis and/ or fixed income investments.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of financial statements and financial modelling skills (e.g. cash flow projections).
  • Good knowledge of debt capital market and fixed income instruments (e.g. private debt securities, bonds, and structured products).
