Position Overview:
The Merchandising executive is responsible for driving the commercial success of the sport fashion brand by selecting and purchasing product lines that algin with market trends, customer preferences, and the brand’s strategy. This role requires a deep understanding of the sports and fashion markets, a keen eye for trends, and strong negotiation skills to manage principal relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Product Selection and Buying:
- Develop and implement a seasonal buying strategy in line with brand objectives.
- Identify and select product assortments that align with current market trends and customer demand.
- Manage principal relationships and maintain a strong network within the industry.
2. Merchandising Planning:
- Create and manage the merchandising plan, ensuring it aligns with sales forecasts, inventory levels, and market trends.
- Analyze past sales data to inform future product selections and ensure optimal stock levels.
- Collaborate with design and marketing teams to ensure cohesive product launches and promotions.
3. Trend Analysis and Market Research:
- Conduct regular market analysis to stay ahead of trends in sport fashion.
- Monitor competitor activity and consumer behavior to identify new opportunities.
- Provide insights and recommendations to the product development team based on market research.
4. Inventory Management:
- Oversee inventory levels to ensure the right products are available at the right time, minimizing excess stock and stockouts.
- Work closely with the supply chain and logistics teams to manage the flow of goods from suppliers to stores.
5. Sales Performance Analysis:
- Track and analyze sales performance across all product lines and categories.
- Adjust buying strategies based on sales data to optimize product assortments and maximize profitability.
- Prepare and present regular sales and performance reports to senior management.
6. Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, marketing, retail operations, and e-commerce, to ensure a unified brand approach.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to ensure alignment on product strategies and goals.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business, Economics, and equivalents
- 1 year of experience in merchandising, retail, or a related field. Fresh Graduates are welcome to apply.
- Ability to analyze sales data and market trends to make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with different teams.
- Ability to work independently and as part of team.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
