PURPOSE/MISSION:

The McDonald’s Business Manager creates and executes the market level customer relationship strategy, intended to foster favourable business relationships with designated accounts. This role has a specific focus on the McDonald’s accounts that are supplied by Tyson Foods Malaysia. This includes countries like Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, GCC countries as well as others in the Region.

The incumbent is expected to work with the customers’ designated team members from the key departments such as Supply Chain, Quality Assurance, and Menu Management to create a long-term value adding relationship.

To be effective in the role, it is necessary to maintain and expand relationships with strategically important customers. This is achieved through regular and high-quality customer communication, resolving customer issues and concerns in a prompt manner, escalating issues to higher level of authority as required and striving to ensure customer satisfaction is continually maintained.

The McDonald’s Business Manager represents the entire range of company products and services to assigned customers and ensuring customer needs and expectations are constantly met by the company. The role is ultimately responsible for the growth of volume and market share.

Essential to this role is versatility and the ability to pivot between the knowledge of Business Finance, Supply Chain, Quality Assurance and Innovation. This position will have extensive interaction with internal and external stakeholders.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Establishes productive, professional relationships with key customer personnel.
  2. Establish and maintain strong customer relationships through regular close contact account management which will include regular face to face meetings, telephone, and email communication. Incumbent is required to spend a high proportion of time in face-to-face customer meetings.
  3. Maintain a thorough understanding of the customers’ needs, their business strategy and priorities and ensure that this information is cascaded to internal stakeholders.
  4. Coordinates the involvement of company personnel, including support, service, and management resources, to meet account performance objectives and customer expectations.
  5. Responsible to meet assigned targets for profitable sales volume and strategic objectives in assigned accounts.
  6. Works with the VP, Tyson Malaysia to develop a company-wide strategic account planning process that develops mutual performance objectives and critical milestones.
  7. Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates customer needs on an ongoing basis.
  8. Leads solution development efforts that best address customer needs, while coordinating the involvement of all necessary company personnel.

Accountabilities

  1. Achieves assigned market objectives and targets for designated strategic accounts.
  2. Meets assigned expectations regarding customer satisfaction.
  3. Achieves strategic customer objectives defined by management.
  4. Creates and meets outcomes as defined in a strategic customer account plan for each market.
  5. Enlists the support of specialists, implementation resources, service resources, and other key account and management resources as needed to meet objectives.
  6. Ensures that customer issues requiring senior management involvement are escalated in a timely manner.
  7. Works closely with internal business unit stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and problem resolution.
  8. Manage and organized key customer meetings such as QBR and pricing protocol meetings.
  9. Key reference person for internal customer in regard to McDonalds.

Qualifications/EXPERIENCE

  • Degree
  • Minimum of 3 years’ working experience preferably in relation with McDonald’s.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills required. Strong verbal/written communication.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical ability.
  • Progressive experiences that demonstrate mastery of skills and knowledge necessary to perform responsibilities as defined.
  • Facilitation and strategic influencing skill.
  • Ability to plan, manage and control resources.
