Successful candidate will be an experienced Supply Chain Director to support our supply chain initiatives in the regions mentioned. The ideal candidate has the knowledge, communication abilities, and supplier contacts to develop current and new suppliers and to optimize the value for the Group. This includes identifying and qualifying new technical and commercial suppliers or sub-suppliers from raw materials to forging, casting, and finished components. Negotiation on the price and deliverables will be a combined effort with the Division while ensuring the highest levels of quality, reliability, and price competitiveness. Reporting directly to the CEO, this individual will play a critical role in shaping the future success of our organization.

This position is to be based in Kuala Lumpur


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Cost Optimization: Implement strategies to drive down the cost of supply across the corporation, while maintaining quality and reliability standards. Ensuring we understand the market and competitor pricing. Leverage benefits of aggregate volume purchases and best practices across the organization.
  • Vendor Management: Develop a supply chain with new vendors, specifically in East and South Asia. Work with the local buying, and inspection team, maintain relationships with existing vendors, and ensure cost competitiveness through effective negotiation and collaboration. Ensure multiple supply avenues in place related to country, government requirements and regional suppliers. Develop key relationships and commercial terms directly with suppliers in the field.
  • Product Expertise: Management and oversight of sourcing raw materials/forgings/semi-finished products and manufacturing. Ensure surveillance or onsite audits in conjunction with QA and Engineering requirements from each business unit, including use of third-party services where applicable.
  • Supply Chain Efficiency: Identify opportunities for streamlining supply chain processes and improving efficiency, from sourcing to delivery, to reduce lead times and enhance operational agility.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with other departments, including manufacturing, logistics, finance, and procurement, to align supply chain strategies with overall business objectives and drive continuous improvement.
  • Compliance and Sustainability: Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards, as well as adherence to ethical sourcing practices and sustainability initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field;
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in supply chain management, with a proven track record of driving cost reduction and improving operational efficiency.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain best practices, including vendor management, procurement, inventory management, and logistics.
  • Experience working in a multi-national manufacturing company or similar environment is preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge and familiarity with industry standards such as API, ANSI, ASME SAMSS, and related product segment specifications.
  • Extensive international travel (30%) is required.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Hunter mentality to finding where are competition are buying from, the current market costs, and development of new accounts.
  • Proficiency in supply chain management software and tools, including SAP, as well as advanced knowledge of Excel and data analysis techniques.
  • Multilingual is an asset.
  • Our Corporate Head Office is located in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. We are open to various locations and long-term relocation is an option.
