Sous Chef

Job Summary:
The Sous Chef will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen, including menu planning, food preparation, inventory management, and kitchen staff supervision. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Asian & Western fusion cuisine and a passion for creating delicious and visually appealing snacks and finger foods.

Key Responsibilities:

• Menu planning and development, incorporating new and exciting Asian-fusion flavors and techniques
• Lead the kitchen team in the preparation and presentation of all food items, ensuring consistency and quality
• Supervise and train the commis chef, providing guidance and feedback to ensure their ongoing development
• Manage kitchen inventory, ordering supplies and ingredients as needed to maintain efficient operations
• Ensure compliance with all food safety and sanitation standards and regulations
• Collaborate with the bar team to create pairing menus and special promotions
• Monitor food costs and labor expenses, implementing cost-saving measures as needed
• Maintain a positive and productive working environment, fostering teamwork and communication among kitchen staff

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 3 years' experience as a Sous Chef or similar role and open to work in a small team.
• Strong knowledge of Asian & Western fusion cuisine and cooking techniques
• Proven ability to lead and manage a kitchen team, including training and development
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure
• Strong culinary skills and creativity in menu development and food presentation
• Proficient in kitchen equipment and inventory management
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards and regulations
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with other team members

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: RM4,000.00 - RM5,000.00 per month

Supplemental Pay:

• Commission pay
