The Customs Clearance Personnel is responsible for managing the import and export processes of goods while ensuring compliance with all applicable customs regulations and international trade laws. This role requires expertise in preparing documentation, coordinating with customs authorities, and ensuring smooth and timely clearance of shipments.
- Prepare and review all necessary customs documentation, including invoices, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
- Coordinate with customs authorities to ensure timely processing of shipments.
- Classify goods according to tariff coding systems and calculate duties and taxes.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations, trade agreements, and international shipping laws.
- Communicate with clients, shipping agents, and freight forwarders to provide updates on shipment statuses.
- Resolve issues related to customs delays, inspections, or disputes.
- Maintain accurate records of all customs clearance transactions and documentation.
- Monitor changes in customs regulations and update procedures accordingly.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of customs clearance processes, regulations, and documentation.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle high-pressure situations and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in customs software and systems.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Previous experience in customs clearance, logistics, or supply chain management is preferred.
