We’re currently looking for a high caliber professional to join our team as VP, AML Compliance Senior Officer ( Risk and Control ) - C13 , Hybrid, Malaysia (Internal Job Title: Compl Bus Control Officer - C13) based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The VP, AML Compliance Officer will also assist to ensure policy compliance, management of operational risk, regulatory adherence, and the institution of best practices relating to Management Control Assessment (MCA), and Issues, Audit Management. The ideal candidate must be a strategic professional who advises on directional strategy by analyzing subject matter and its application in business.

    In this role, you’re expected to:

    • Support all facets of the internal audit and external reviews by handling the flow of information to and from the auditors through a standardized and controlled methodology.
    • Proactively collaborate with stakeholders to ensure audit and review readiness.
    • Be an advocate for the AML point of view in all matters relating to compliance and/or audit.
    • Support Audit/Review deliverables.
    • Provide credible challenge to responses and artifacts.
    • Implementation and execution of broad corporate guidance into effective leadership behaviors specific to AML Risk and Control related activities including Audit/Issues Management, control programs, and MCA
    • Overseeing the preparation of any required responses, corrective action plans, and any other required deliverables.
    • Ensuring that all issues raised by the examiners/auditors are escalated promptly to the appropriate level of management.
    • Responsible for the Issue Management program in the region including corrective action plan development, assessment and tracking for AML related issues, as well as leading discussions with stakeholders to ensure timely completion.
    • Coordination of all R&C reporting requirements, including CAPs updates, MCA/GRC monthly and quarterly reports, audit updates, monthly R&C updates to stakeholders.
    • Determine and recommend appropriate controls for mitigating identified risks and control weaknesses.
    • Independently assess the effectiveness of control and determine the potential impact of any control failure and the corrective action required.
    • Provide training and mentoring to the AML management and staff on topics related to the Audits and Issues.
    • Support other functions within the AML Risk & Control team as needed.
    • Provides guidance to AML officers and their business partners globally in all matters affecting the program and works closely with AML Operations and Technology to ensure the most effective use of tools and resources in the Monitoring process.
    • Drives various global projects to advance the Monitoring Risk Management Program and is a key contributor to many other strategic AML initiatives.
    • Identifies and analyzes AML risks, emerging risks, and regulations specific to transaction monitoring.
    • Has the ability to operate with a limited level of direct supervision
    • Can exercise independence of judgement and autonomy.
    • Acts as SME to senior stakeholders and /or other team members.

    . As a successful candidate, you’d ideally have the following skills and exposure:

    • 5 - 8+ years of experience in Risk and Control
    • Experience in Anti-Money Laundering preferred e.g. AML Transaction Monitoring and/or AML Risk Assessment and the development and compilation of policies and procedures
    • Balanced blend of analytical skills, problem solving, reporting and strong communication skills
    • Advanced organizational skills including attention to detail, multi-tasking and following up
    • Experience using databases and other tracking tools to enforce global consistency
    • Excellent writing and presentation skills
    • Experience working collaboratively across various areas of the organization and presenting to senior management​
    • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
