Video Forensics Analyst

A Video Forensics Analyst examining, analyzing, and authenticating video footage in order to support investigations in criminal, civil, or corporate matters. The role is crucial in situations where the integrity or authenticity of video data needs to be confirmed, such as in criminal cases, cybersecurity incidents, or legal proceedings. Key Responsibility Video Analysis: • Examine raw video footage from various sources such as CCTV cameras, smartphones, security systems, and other digital devices. • Conduct frame-by-frame analysis to identify alterations or tampering. • Enhance and clarify video footage to make it usable in investigations (e.g., improving resolution, stabilizing shaky footage). Authentication and Verification: • Determine the authenticity of video evidence to ensure it has not been tampered with or altered in any way. • Use forensic techniques to verify timestamps, locations, and the integrity of the video content. Evidence Preservation: • Maintain proper documentation and chain of custody for video evidence. • Ensure the security and integrity of the video data, adhering to legal protocols. • Preserve original files and produce secure copies for further investigation or legal purposes. Reporting and Testimony: • Prepare detailed reports outlining findings and methodologies used in the analysis. • Present analysis and findings clearly, both in written reports and verbal testimony, in legal or courtroom settings if required. Technical Proficiency: • Utilize forensic software (e.g., Amped FIVE, Avid, or Adobe Premiere Pro) to perform detailed video analysis, enhancement, and verification. • Stay updated on new video editing techniques and forensic tools to detect digital manipulation. Educational Requirements: • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, digital forensics, criminology, cybersecurity, or a related field. • Relevant certifications in digital forensics
