CASTING ENGINEER

a) Define the process parameters and optimal production window to meet casting quality requirements for new and existing programs b) Create detailed documentation of the process settings and verify that process is repeatable in production c) Setup and support the shot monitoring equipment to record the cycle outputs and provide training on the system d) Troubleshoot and implement corrective actions for casting quality issues e) Review existing processes and implement continual improvements to reduce waste and cost (or, for cycle time and scrap reductions) f) Perform capability studies on the die cast equipment g) Participate in corrective action analysis and drive to root cause h) Training of foundry employees to ensure safe, efficient operation, proper shot monitoring, understanding of the process, and the relationship to quality and cost i) Provide technical support for tooling design and flow simulations
