A Plywood R&D Engineer responsible for leading research and development (R&D) activities aimed at improving existing plywood products or developing new ones. The R&D Engineer works closely with production teams, quality control, and product development groups to ensure that new products meet industry standards and customer demands. Job Responsibilities: 1) Product Development and Innovation: - Conduct research to develop new plywood products, focusing on enhancing quality, strength, durability, and aesthetic appeal. - Investigate alternative materials, such as new types of wood, veneers, adhesives, and coatings, to create more sustainable or cost effective plywood solutions. 2)Materials and Process Optimization: - Optimize existing plywood manufacturing processes, such as veneer peeling, bonding, pressing, and drying, to improve efficiency and reduce waste. - Experiment with new adhesives, resins, or pressing techniques to enhance the performance or cost-effectiveness of plywood. 3)Testing and Quality Assurance: - Conduct lab and field tests to evaluate the quality, durability, and performance of new products under different environment and load conditions. - Analyze test results and collaborate with the quality control team to ensure the products meet the required specifications and industry standards. 4) Collaboration with Cross Functional Teams: - Work closely with production teams to ensure smooth integration of new materials or processes into the manufacturing environment - Provide technical support to production and quality control teams to troubleshoot product-related issues. 5) Sustainablity and Environmental Impact: - Research sustainable alternative for plywood production including the use of recycled materials, eco-friendly adhesives, or renewable resources. - Develop strategies for reducing environmental impact during the manufacturing process, such as minimizing energy consumption, reducing waste, or improving product recycling. 6)Continuous Improvement; - Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and competitor products to maintain a competitive edge in product offerings. -Suggest improvements to production processes based on findings from R&D activities.
