Job Responsibilities:
1. Accounting
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closing and financial reporting to management.
- Provide insightful financial analyses of the key variances VS budget and last year’s performances in terms of sales, gross margin, costs and profitability.
- Monitor and analyze the financial performance of distributors (month-on-month variances, year-on-year variances, quarter-on-quarter variances, budget VS actual).
- Review tax matters.
- Provide business support to the Sales and Marketing team, highlighting potential credit risk, tax exposure, cross border remittance issues and foreign exchange exposure.
- Monitor Account Receivables collection from distributors to ensure overdue are minimized and timely collections are made to achieve optimized cash flow management.
- Liaise with auditors to ensure appropriate monitoring of company finances is well maintained.
- Select and implement a local ERP system with the support of the HQ Finance and IT team.
- Implement e-invoicing for the two subsidiaries and ensure 100% compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Accountable for the implementation of the relevant business process and management reporting according to the requirements.
2. Budgeting / Forecasting
- Manage the preparation of the annual company’s budget and quarterly forecast submissions to ensure there is sufficient stretch to achieve target.
3. Internal Controls
- Define processes and internal controls and ensure compliance to statutory requirements, company policies and procedures and alignment with guidelines.
4. Finance Operations / Reporting / Business Analysis
- Maintain and be accountable for the financial health of the company.
- Serve as an aspiring partner to CEO on any financial analyses related to investment, business development activities, credit management and efficiency streams.
- Analyses costs, pricing, variable contributions, sales results and the company’s actual performance compared to the business plans.
- Proactive to provide financial support to ensure costs control, financial risk management and adequate business decisions in company major projects.
- Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities.
- Liaise with external parties (e.g. external auditors, tax agents, corporate secretarial agents, local tax and government authorities) where required, and be accountable for any tax related matters.
Job Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or a related field, with 5 – 8 years of proven experience in accounting and financial analysis. (CPA or ACCA certification is highly preferred)
- Comprehensive knowledge of statutory legislation and regulations, with the ability to ensure full compliance.
- Proficiency in finance software; experience with SQL Accounting is an advantage for future implementation.
- Strong skills in MS Office, particularly in Excel, Power Point, and Word.
- Fluent in Mandarin, English and Bahasa Malaysia with excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in a local context.
