Job Summary:
The Industrial Nurse is responsible for managing workplace health and safety programs, providing healthcare services, and ensuring compliance with health regulations. This role involves a mix of clinical responsibilities, such as emergency care and health assessments, and administrative tasks related to occupational health and safety. The Industrial Nurse plays a key role in promoting employee wellness and ensuring a safe work environment.
Principal Responsibilities:
- Oversee the delivery of medical services within the organization, including emergency care, first aid, and ongoing health assessments.
- Provide first aid and emergency medical care for work-related injuries and illnesses.
- Ensure the accuracy and confidentiality of medical records, maintaining compliance with relevant medical regulations.
- Oversee medication ordering and inventory using FIFO (First-In, First-Out) principles.
- Maintain accurate and orderly records of employee health data and inventory.
- Ensure that basic medical facilities are well-maintained and adequately stocked to handle emergencies, including first aid replenishment in all first aid boxes.
- Promote employee wellness through health education programs covering topics such as nutrition, stress management, and ergonomics.
- Coordinate and conduct health-related workshops and seminars.
- Assist in the development of emergency response plans and conduct drills as needed.
- Collaborate with other departments to integrate health initiatives and implement wellness programs across the company.
- Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, including OSHA standards and other local, state, and federal requirements.
- Adhere to the General Safety Practices of the organization and support the goal of achieving a zero-accident workplace.
- Conform to the requirements of all applicable ISO management systems and comply with relevant laws and regulations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications :
- Candidate must possess at least Diploma/ Degree in Nursing.
- Registered with the Malaysia Nursing Board as a State Registered Nurse (SRN).
- Valid Annual Practicing Certificate as a State Registered Nurse from the Malaysia Ministry of Health.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in an industrial setting.
- Experience in First Aid and Emergency Response Team (ERT) is an added advantage.
- Capability to manage emergency situations calmly and efficiently.
- Extensive knowledge of nursing principles and procedures.
- Strong understanding of workplace hazards and safety risks.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
