Job Purpose
The jobholder is expected to contribute to the Department’s role in:
- Assisting in the implementation and management of the Group Sustainability Roadmap and integration of sustainability into corporate strategy, risk management and business operations, group wide.
- Assisting in the management of sustainability reporting and communication for Sustainability Statement and other relevant disclosures.
- Assisting in collecting, analysing and monitoring performance of sustainability data.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of the sustainability strategies and awareness initiatives for the workforce including with entities.
- Assisting in the management of Sustainability Working Group (“SWG”) meeting and coordinating corresponding action plans.
- Assisting in the management of Group Sustainability Fund (“GSF”) planning, meeting and reporting
Job Responsibilities
1.Development of Sustainability Disclosures and Communication
Assist Sustainability Team Lead to:
- Planning and developing a sustainability disclosure roadmap and policy based on the recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD), Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM) Climate Change Principle-based Taxonomy (CCPT), and Bursa’s Sustainability Reporting requirements.
- Collaborating with the Corporate Communications Department to implement communication strategies that publicize the Group’s sustainability efforts and promote sustainability initiatives and programs.
- Developing reports and presentations to communicate awareness and performance of sustainability initiatives.
2.Management and Reporting of Sustainability Statement
- Assist the Sustainability Team Lead and coordinate with data owners and respective entities’ Sustainability Champions in the preparation, finalization, and approval of the annual Sustainability Statement.
- Ensure alignment with the reporting requirements of Bursa, BNM, the Securities Commission, and any global standards the company wishes to pursue.
3. Sustainability Data Analysis
- Collaborate with business owners to develop and implement ESG strategies, policies, and initiatives that align with the Group’s Sustainability Roadmap.
- Collect, monitor and measure sustainability performance indicators, track progress, and produce regular reports to communicate findings to internal and external stakeholders.
- Stay updated on evolving sustainability-related regulations, industry best practices, and emerging sustainability trends and assist in incorporating them into the Group’s strategies.
- Review requirements for non-financial data and engage with Business Units and Corporate functions to effectively collate data to strengthen the department’s reporting and engagement.
4. Management of Sustainability Integration
-Assist Sustainability Team Lead to:
- Facilitate, monitor, manage, and report on the implementation of the Group Sustainability Roadmap with respect to reporting and disclosures across the group.
- Provide advice on sustainability-related matters to business owners as required.
- Coordinate with SWG members and subject matter experts (SMEs) on the integration of sustainability into corporate strategy, investment, risk management, and operational initiatives.
- Instil awareness of sustainability and ESG integration into operations among staff..
-Arrange necessary meetings, discussions, and engagement sessions with business owners and other stakeholders as required.
- Coordinate responses to external surveys and queries, including those from BNM, MTA, rating agencies, etc..
5. Capability Building
- Stay informed about best practices to enhance sustainability perspectives, including understanding climate-related risks and relevant ESG sustainability practices.
- Actively engage with relevant stakeholders to identify and address sustainability issues
- Assist Sustainability Team Lead to:
- Supporting departments across the Group in identifying and implementing sustainability practices and initiatives.
- Organizing sustainability awareness program or training and cascade sessions for relevant stakeholders to promote awareness and integration initiatives.
6. Management of SWG and GSF Meeting, Reporting and Action Plans
- Assist the Sustainability Team Lead in managing SWG and GSF meetings, preparing meeting papers, and coordinating corresponding action plan.
7. Other responsibilities
- Fulfill any other assignments as required by the Sustainability Team Lead, Head of Department/Division, or the Management.
Qualification
Degree in Finance, Economic, Business Administration, Data Management, Data Analytics or related discipline
Professional
Certification on Sustainability / ESG / VBI related and/or Project Management is an added advantage.
Experience
Minimum of 2 years working experience or exposure in related field.
