Mantissa College is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable full-time Lecturer in Business Administration to join our academic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in business and management, combined with a passion for teaching and inspiring students. This role requires teaching both in conventional classroom settings and through hybrid Online Distance Learning (ODL), depending on the course requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Classroom Instruction: Prepare, plan, and deliver engaging classes in both conventional and hybrid Online Distance Learning (ODL) formats. Use a variety of instructional methods to reach diverse learners and optimize student engagement.
- Course Material Development: Design and create comprehensive course materials, assignments, and assessments that enhance learning outcomes, accommodate varying learning paces, and foster a thorough understanding of core concepts.
- Student Assessment: Create, evaluate, and grade assessments to accurately measure student performance and provide constructive feedback.
- Student Progression and Evaluation: Monitor and report on student progression, provide timely evaluations, and work with academic advisors to support student success.
- Student Records and Reporting: Accurately maintain student attendance records, academic performance data, and grade submissions within deadlines.
- Academic Support: Provide guidance and support to students through regular office hours, email, and virtual sessions, helping students meet academic requirements and addressing individual learning needs.
- Examination Duties: Participate in exam invigilation, question setting, and grading to ensure fair, consistent assessment practices.
- Departmental Meetings: Attend and actively contribute to departmental and program-related meetings, collaborating on strategies for student success and curriculum improvements.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) preferable.
- Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration
- Previous teaching experience in higher education is an advantage, especially in hybrid or ODL formats.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to engage students with varying learning needs and foster an interactive learning environment.
- Salary range = RM2,500 - RM3,500.00
Additional Role:
1) Program Development & Delivery - Program Leader (Add RM1,500)
- 20% Teaching Duties + 80% Program Leader Role below
- Program Development and Planning: Lead the curriculum design, development, and continuous improvement of BBA, DIBA, ODL BBA, and CBS programs, ensuring relevance to industry trends and alignment with accreditation requirements.
- Program Delivery and Oversight: Monitor program delivery across multiple modalities, especially for Online Distance Learning (ODL) programs, to ensure quality and compliance.
- Student Progression and Support: Oversee student advisement processes, ensuring students receive the support needed to succeed and progress through the program effectively.
- Faculty Coordination: Coordinate with faculty members teaching in the programs to ensure consistent quality standards, conduct periodic reviews, and support professional development.
2) Student Assessment (Exam Unit) (Add RM400)
- 20% Teaching Duties + 80% Exam Administration below
- Examination Duties: Participate in exam invigilation, question setting, and grading to ensure fair, consistent assessment practices.
- Exam Coordination: Organize and oversee exams for multiple programs, ensuring all exams comply with university policies and academic integrity standards.
- Exam Logistics: Coordinate exam schedules, allocate venues, and ensure all required materials and technology are in place for smooth exam delivery.
- Grading and Result Processing: Oversee grading processes, compile exam results, and work with faculty to ensure timely, accurate grade submissions.
- Exam Compliance: Ensure all exams and assessments comply with institutional and regulatory requirements.
- Exam Queries and Support: Address student and faculty inquiries regarding exam processes, grades, and re-assessment policies.
3) Monitoring, Review, and Improvement (Add RM800)

- Compliance Monitoring: Ensure compliance with ministry regulations and accreditation standards across student assessment, admissions, academic staff qualifications, library resources, and student support services.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain up-to-date records of compliance, including completing Tables III, IV, and V for ministry requirements and compiling necessary documents.
- Program and Syllabus Updates: Collaborate with faculty and program leaders to keep program syllabus current with ministry and industry standards.
- Ministry Communication: Serve as the primary contact for ministry updates and replies, ensuring changes are communicated effectively to faculty and staff.
- Resource Evaluation: Monitor the library and educational resources, ensuring they are updated and meet program requirements.
- Issue Resolution: Oversee student complaints, ensuring all matters are addressed appropriately and resolved in a timely manner.
4) Online Distance Learning (ODL) Expert (Add RM1,200)
- 0% Teaching Duties + 100% ODL Management & Support below
- ODL Platform Administration: Manage and maintain Moodle or similar LMS platforms, including updating course content, managing user access, and ensuring system functionality.
- Content Development and Conversion: Support faculty with content editing, slide conversion, and optimization of materials for ODL delivery.
- Strategic Advising: Advise on strategies for ODL implementation and continuous improvement, ensuring alignment with institutional goals and educational standards.
- System Updates and Compliance: Monitor the system for necessary updates, ensure compliance with educational standards and accreditation requirements for ODL programmes, conducting regular audits and evaluations.
- Staff Training and Certification: Provide training for faculty on ODL tools and Moodle, supporting certifications for effective use of online learning resources.
- Quality Assurance and Review: Regularly assess the quality of ODL materials, update system features, and ensure an engaging and compliant online learning environment.
- Technical Support: Provide troubleshooting assistance for students and faculty in navigating and utilizing Moodle.
