Position Summary
The Kitchen Assistant at Arest Cafe supports the kitchen team by performing essential tasks such as food preparation, cleaning, and maintaining kitchen hygiene. This role ensures the kitchen operates efficiently and smoothly, contributing to high-quality food service.
Key Responsibilities
1. Food Preparation Support
- Wash, peel, and chop ingredients as directed by the chef or kitchen crew.
- Assist in portioning and preparing ingredients for cooking.
- Prepare simple dishes under supervision, such as salads, sandwiches, or sides.
2. Cleaning and Maintenance
- Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen by washing dishes, utensils, and equipment.
- Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, storage areas, and floors regularly.
- Dispose of waste and recyclables properly.
3. Stock and Inventory Management
- Assist in unpacking and storing deliveries, ensuring proper stock rotation (FIFO method).
- Monitor stock levels and inform the supervisor of shortages or expired items.
4. Health and Safety Compliance
- Follow all food safety and hygiene standards.
- Handle kitchen equipment safely and report any issues or malfunctions.
- Ensure proper handwashing and cleaning procedures are adhered to at all times.
5. Team Collaboration
- Work closely with kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow.
- Provide support during busy service periods by assisting with basic tasks.
- Communicate effectively with the team to ensure orders are completed on time.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent, Fresh graduate
Pay: RM1,800.00 - RM2,800.00 per month
