*Ensure compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (OSHA 1994) and its regulations, particularly the Construction (Safety and Health) Regulations 1994 (CSR 1994). Familiarize with guidelines and codes of practice issued by the Department of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH) Malaysia. *Conduct regular inspections of construction sites to identify and assess potential hazards such as scaffolding safety, electrical hazards, machinery safety, working at heights, and hazardous substances handling. *Recommend and implement corrective actions to eliminate or mitigate identified hazards. *Develop and conduct safety induction programs for all personnel involved in construction projects. *Provide specialized training on specific construction-related hazards and safety measures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE). *Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses promptly to determine root causes. *Prepare detailed reports on findings and recommendations for preventive actions. Ensure timely reporting to relevant authorities as per regulatory requirements. *Assist in the development and implementation of site-specific safety management systems, including safety policies, procedures, and emergency response plans. *Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs and initiatives on construction sites *Develop emergency response plans tailored to construction site conditions, including procedures for evacuation, first aid, and handling of emergencies such as fires and chemical spills. *Conduct regular drills and simulations to ensure readiness and effectiveness of emergency procedures. *Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, training sessions, incidents, and corrective actions as required by DOSH Malaysia. *Ensure compliance with permit-to-work systems, risk assessments, and other legal requirements applicable to construction activities. *Collaborate closely with project managers, site supervisors, subcontractors, and safety committees to promote a culture of safety and health. *Communicate safety policies, procedures, and regulatory updates effectively to all personnel on construction sites. *Ensure proper selection, use, and maintenance of safety equipment and PPE in accordance with Malaysian standards and regulations. *Participate in safety audits, committees, and forums to exchange best practices and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. *Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and regulatory changes to enhance safety performance on construction sites. Qualifications: *Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Occupational Safety and Health, Engineering, or related field. Professional certification as a Safety and Health Officer recognized by DOSH Malaysia. *Relevant experience in construction safety management, preferably in Malaysia. *Strong knowledge of Malaysian safety laws, regulations, and standards applicable to the construction industry. *Based on Batu Kawan, Penang
