Job Summary
The Product Manager is responsible for establishing, prioritizing, and accepting the work developed by a team of Scrum Developers in order to ensure that the requirements for what is being developed are correct, as well as to ensure that the most value is delivered.
The Product Manager will need to deeply understand the end-to-end Concept2Market process, existing business rules, and how these impact application & data workflows.
The Product Manager will gather feature requests, schedule releases and coordinate sprints. He/she should be able to identify business and other stakeholder needs, guide customers and stakeholders to understand the business value of the work planned for development, as well as interact directly and frequently with cross-functional teams of Scrum Developers to manage product releases.
The Product Manager must also ensure that the organizational vision is supported and that product roadmaps are followed and updated so as to be current at all times.
This position requires strong communication, lateral influencing skills and a passion for inclusion, diversity and equity.
Responsibilities
Owning the product roadmap:- Working with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and align the product roadmap to strategic organizational objectives.
Collaborating with stakeholders during the visioning and development of deliverables to ensure the accuracy of the product roadmap.
Researching and analyzing the market and potential users to ensure accuracy of the current product.
Serving as the voice of the stakeholder:- Identifying and assisting stakeholders to understand the business impact and value proposition.
Representing the Scrum Software Development Teams in front of stakeholders.
Managing the Product:- Determining scope and defining product backlog items (epics, features, themes, and user stories for functional and non-functional requirements, as well as for defects in order to guide the Scrum Software Development Teams).
- Solving product-related problems, making key product development decisions, performing analysis of trade-offs to remain on-track delivering business commitments.
- Having a basic understanding of the end-to-end customer experience, including knowledge of dependencies that occur with product integrations.
- Being accountable for the developed products and/or services delivered and communicating the plans and plan changes to business partners as often as needed.
- Assessing value, developing cases, and prioritizing product backlog items (PBIs), ensuring that work focuses on those PBIs with the maximum value aligned with the current product strategy.
- Acting as an ambassador for the products or services internally and externally, as well as serving as the primary contact for queries related to the products or services.
- Developing lightweight Scrum artifacts with sufficient detail for product features so they are clearly understood by the development teams, and not creating “big up-from design documents” (BUFDs).
- Working closely with product management and leadership to only create products that fit within the company’s current portfolio.
- Developing and maintaining an appropriately prioritized backlog of PBIs for implementation.
- Drafting KPIs and OKRs along with the business and leadership and applying them to make key product decisions in support of the business and organizational vision.
General Accountabilities:- Being a full member of the Scrum team, available to the team daily and attending all Scrum events.
- Following competitors, the industry, new technology opportunities and other new trends.
- Offer expertise & advise in lateral discussion that could potentially impact the product
- Increasing an understanding of Agile practices across the organization at all levels.
Requirements
At least 5 years of experience as a Product Manager within an Agile SCRUM environment (other Agile frameworks are a plus)At least 5 years working with cross-functional Software Development Teams under SCRUM methodology teams to deliver common sprint goals.
Experience in representing the voice of the customer and stakeholders, ensuring that product features align with business needs.
Experience in validating user needs, solutions, and business objectives to ensure product alignment and successful outcomes.
Experience developing minimum marketable features (MMF) (in addition to minimum viable products (MVP).
Proven experience in developing and managing minimum viable products (MVP) and transitioning them into full-fledged product releases.
Expertise creating and maintaining an annual product roadmap at the quarterly level.
Experience in making data-driven decisions and creating high-level product artifacts to guide development and prioritize features.
Experience with Jira and Confluence for managing product workflows and maintaining product documentation.
Experience in applying a user-centered approach to product development, ensuring features meet user needs, drive engagement, and are measured by success metrics.
Expertise in creating and maintaining a product roadmap at the quarterly and annual level to guide product evolution.
Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to set clear priorities and manage expectations.
Ability to understand both the functionality provided and technologies used by the product.
In-depth understanding of both the functionality and technologies behind the product, with the ability to communicate these to various audiences (technical and non-technical).
