Job Responsibilities:- 1. Development of New Products (oral solid dosage forms such as Tablets, Soft Gelatine Capsules, and Pellets) i.) To carry out literature search ii.) To evaluate different source of raw materials iii.) To formulate new products in various dosage forms at laboratory scale and to establish critical process parameters and the final product specifications iv.) To scale up formulations and arrange to provide data for product registration v.) To evaluate and monitor the stability data of new products by liaising with Stability section vi.) To check into packaging, machinery and environmental requirements for new products vii.) To arrange to conduct relevant product efficacy testing viii.) To liaise with contract manufacturer for new products trial run (OEM) 2. Improvement of Existing Products i.) To identify and troubleshoot problems in manufacturing process and optimize manufacturing procedures ii.) To modify and improve existing product formulations to meet new requirements and bioequivalence iii.) To troubleshoot stability problem products 3. Product Development work collaboratively with relevant departments i.) To provide product information/development reports to Regulatory Affairs personnel during process of product registration (especially regulated markets in the US and Europe) ii.) To coordinate with QC personnel on analysis of products iii.) To coordinate with Supply Chain department on raw materials procurement/sourcing iv.) To coordinate with Production Executives for the preparation of scale up and trial run v.) To coordinate with QA/QC and other relevant departments for validation of new products vi.) To provide technical assistance to Production, QA/QC, RA, Sales & Marketing departments, when necessary 4. Oversee the overall work performance of subordinates i.) To ensure appropriate tasks are assigned to subordinates ii.) To ensure that the subordinates are competent in the task assigned iii.) To ensure relevant training and development are provided for the increase of job knowledge and flexibility of workforce skills iv.) To ensure laboratory instruments in Powder and Liquid laboratories are well maintained and proper maintenance work is performed on time 5. Oversee the activities in Research & Development Powder and Liquid Laboratories i.) To ensure documentation related to Powder and Liquid laboratories is well maintain and up to date ii.) To ensure Powder and Liquid laboratories are kept clean and tidy iii.) To ensure basic Good Laboratory Practices are adhered for instruments, chemicals and documents 6. Responsible in technology transfer of Ipoh plant and Chemor plant new products to customers i.) Responsible in handling technical knowledge of new products and any special requirements during process validation will be shared to ensure successful manufacturing of all upcoming batches Job Requirements: • Candidate must possess at least a degree of Pharmacy, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Chemistry or equivalent. • Candidate with minimum experience of 5 years in formulation and development in pharmaceutical industry. Preferably with soft gelatine capsule development/manufacturing experience. • Good understanding in Good Documentation Practice (GDP) as well as Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP). Knowledge in Good Lad Practices (GLP) will be an added advantage. • Required skills(s): Computer literature, Communication skills (both verbal & written)
