Management Trainee (Logistics)
Job Summary
The Logistics Management Trainee role is designed for recent graduates or early-career professionals eager to gain hands-on experience in logistics and supply chain management. This structured program focuses on developing expertise in key logistics processes, including planning, coordination, execution, and optimization, while preparing candidates for future leadership opportunities within the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Training and Development:
- Participate in structured training programs and on-the-job learning to develop logistics expertise.
- Shadow senior logistics professionals to understand best practices in supply chain operations.
Logistics Coordination:
- Assist in planning, executing, and monitoring the movement of goods from suppliers to customers.
- Support shipment scheduling and routing to ensure timely deliveries.
Inventory and Warehouse Management:
- Collaborate with warehouse teams to manage inventory levels, stock replenishment, and product storage.
- Conduct regular audits and resolve inventory discrepancies.
Process Improvement:
- Identify and propose improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce logistics costs.
- Analyze logistics data and create reports to support decision-making.
Supplier and Vendor Management:
- Support communication and coordination with suppliers, carriers, and vendors.
- Monitor vendor performance to ensure compliance with service-level agreements.
Compliance and Safety:
- Learn and adhere to industry regulations, customs requirements, and safety standards.
- Ensure all operations align with company policies and procedures.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Collaborate with procurement, sales, and production teams to align logistics operations with business needs.
- Assist in resolving issues affecting the supply chain.
Qualifications
- Certificate/Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with logistics or SMK software is a plus.
- Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and adapt.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of logistics concepts, including freight management, inventory control, and transportation planning.
- Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Basic understanding of data analysis and reporting tools.
