Position Summary
The Product Specifications Specialist will maintain global standards so that all Specifications are negotiated with customers and are accurately written as to the Oliver Quality Management Systems (all Oliver locations) capabilities and can consistently deliver to customer expectations. Included within the sphere of documents reviewed are Customer Specification Documents. The role will also consult with multiple Oliver teams to maintain these same global standards and verbiage.
Primary Responsibilities / Essential Functions
Review and translate Customer Specifications into Oliver standards and capabilities.
Communicate and document standards in the company’s information systems. Examine customer specifications, drawings.
Collaborate with Account Management and Process Engineering to ensure alignment with customer needs and operational priorities.
Work cross-functionally with Customer Care, Pricing, Graphics, Quality, Engineering, and other departments.
Coordinate closely with the Global Quality Projects and Contracts Manager to ensure consistency in customer document language.
Facilitates the internal approval process for Customer Specifications.
Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities for operational efficiency.
Attending customer calls as needed to discuss negotiations and requested specifications.
Maintain and update global Specification standards so that all Specifications negotiated with customers are accurately written as to Oliver standard (all Oliver locations) capabilities and can consistently deliver to customer expectations.
Maintain and update Oliver’s Generic Customer Specification document on a yearly basis as needed.
Track progress and completion of each Specification document electronically.
Support Change Notification Review system.
Respond as needed to external and internal complaints through the disciplined application of the company’s CAPA procedure.
Assist as needed in containing potential problems, investigating causes, implementing solutions, and preventing the problem from recurring.
Assist as needed in other projects related to professional duties.

Preferred Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in closely related field.
- Minimum two (2) years of working experience on customer specification documents and agreements.
- Preferred knowledge of sterile barrier packaging.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is advantageous.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents.
- Ability to write in a clear and concise manner.
- Ability to speak effectively, present information, and respond to questions in a clear and concise manner.
- Conflict resolution skills.
- Strong planning and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and optimize efficiency.
