Job Summary At our company, the primary responsibility of the IT Operations (ITO) Engineer is to support and maintain the critical infrastructure of our card transaction platform. This role is essential for ensuring system reliability, availability, and performance, which enables us to deliver uninterrupted service to our clients. The ITO Engineer will oversee key operational tasks, including server administration, system monitoring, troubleshooting issues, and IT asset management for company personnel. In addition to internal systems, you’ll manage deployments on client production servers and provide standby support during night shifts to promptly address any critical incidents, ensuring continuous operational stability. This role requires a proactive and detail-oriented approach to optimize the performance and security of our transaction processing solutions, contributing directly to the seamless experience our clients depend on. Key Responsibilities System Monitoring and Maintenance: Monitor production systems, network performance, and application uptime using monitoring tools to detect and resolve any issues proactively. Maintain uptime and ensure the high availability of services critical to card transaction processing. Troubleshooting and Incident Management: Respond to and resolve system incidents promptly, using strong analytical skills to diagnose and address root causes. Document incident response activities and develop action plans to prevent reoccurrence. Infrastructure Management: Manage server infrastructure, including patching, updates, and upgrades. Ensure that all infrastructure is optimized for high availability, scalability, and performance. Software Deployment on Client Production Servers: Oversee the deployment of software updates and new releases on client production servers, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to test and validate software deployments. Provide standby support during night shifts to manage deployment schedules and handle any urgent issues that arise. IT Hardware and Software Maintenance: Maintain and upkeep IT hardware and software equipment used by company personnel, ensuring all devices are operational and meet company standards. Install, configure, and troubleshoot hardware and software for company employees as needed. Automation and Optimization: Implement and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline operations tasks and reduce manual work. Identify and implement efficiency improvements in system processes and workflows. Security and Compliance: Apply security protocols to protect data integrity and ensure compliance with industry standards. Conduct regular audits of the infrastructure, working closely with the security team to manage vulnerabilities. Backup and Recovery: Manage and test backup and disaster recovery processes to ensure data resilience. Develop and maintain business continuity plans for critical systems. Documentation and Reporting: Create and maintain detailed documentation for all IT operations processes. Provide regular reports on system performance, incidents, and improvement actions. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field. Experience: Minimum 2-5 years of experience as an ITO Engineer, System Administrator, or in a similar role within an IT or transaction processing environment. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of server and network management, including Windows and Linux OS. Hands-on experience with virtualization, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), and database systems. Proficiency in network security protocols and best practices. Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., SQL, PowerShell, Python) is a plus. Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team.
